great singer but not my type of music. Justifiably in the final 3. Pimped way too much which is a little bit annoying, but he is much more likeable than Jessica. He will be in finale with Phillip and finish second.

| He is a WGWG. I expect he will win it all. Mediocre voice. Can carry a tune but not much better than that at all. Phillip is what the American VOTING public wants. |

OOPS. Thought I was replying to the Phillip thread. Clicked on the wrong one. So these were my thoughts on Phillip. OK thoughts on Joshua. He is always superb. I love that he puts a bit more into the songs than just singing them simply. He adds the passion. |

Like him or hate him?
Neither. Didn't like his singing very much up until two weeks ago due to excessive screaming mostly at the end of songs. Then, he let up on the screaming and I started to appreciate and like him more. If he continues on this upswing, I might really like his performances, we'll see.
F2?
Not sure. The judges (and Jimmy recently) have been praise him to the point of "pimping" and that can actually work against him due to no fault of his own. It's between Jessica and him and it will depend on how many fans each has and how well they do this week.
I'm a redhead. Deal with it! |

Can I quote Stella from one of the other threads? lol
Sometimes I like him, sometimes I don't. A few of his performances I've really liked and others I just didn't relate to. He has a good voice, but some of his song choices haven't been good fits for him.
I can see him in the final 2 but it really depends on how everyone does this week. I can't pick a final 2 till after they perform tonight. |

I loooove Joshua, BUT, I agree, this boy has been pimped waaaaaaaaaaaay too much. Remember when standing ovations happened because the judge(s) couldn't contain themselves, or keep themselves in their chair, and they just HAD to stand up and clap? Back then, there was maybe 2 or 3 standing o's a season. And because of the rarity of them, they meant something. When one kid gets standing o's that count into the double digits, that's not right. It's not.
But, on the other hand, should I "punish" Joshua for the judges behavior? No, I shouldn't.
I HOPE he makes into the finale. And I hope he wins. I really do.

| Love, by far the best male vocalist this year. My pick to win. |

I don't love or hate Joshua. I really noticed him when he sang "You Pulled Me Through" in the Top 25 and I thought he was the best vocalist of the night.
But...then he began screaming at the end of his songs and I began to dread that moment when he would do so in his performances. Even had to mute him a few times.
He has dialed it back a bit in the last couple of weeks. I loved "This is a Man's World" last week. If he would sing an entire song tenderly, I would love him.
For me, the most interesting finale would be Jessica vs. Joshua. |

I just went back and listened to "You Pulled Me Through" on YouTube and he did scream even then, however, that was before I knew he'd do it on every song. It was still an amazing vocal. |

Don't care for him at all, and I expect that he won't make the F2.
What some may call 'passionate' I call 'overwrought', and I detest that type of singing. Every time I hear him, I want to put on some Sade or Julie London to heal my ears.

He's decent, but not great. He'll make the final two. He'll succeed on the Urban A/C chart and cross over to the gospel chart. Much like Fantastia and Ruben Studdard, he'll be critically acclaimed, but he'll disappear from the average public eye (which only pays attention to top 40).
