OK, it has been YEARS since I actually went and bought a CD.
However, I did pick up Adele's new CD "21" today. I really, really like her voice.
I love the songs Rolling in the Deep and Someone Like You.
Have any of you listened to her music? |

"Rolling In The Deep" got my attention the first time I heard it when she sang it on Jay Leno's show.
The hook is truly cool and her voice is golden.
She is RockCity approved!

Adele described the song title's meaning to Rolling Stone as an, "adaptation of a kind of slang, slur phrase in the UK called 'roll deep,' which means to have someone, always have someone that has your back, and you're never on your own, if you're ever in trouble you've always got someone who's going to come and help you fight it or whatever like that. And that's how I felt in the relationship that the record's about, especially 'Rolling in the Deep.' That's how I felt, you know, I thought that's what I was always going to have, and um, it ended up not being the case."

They sound good out of my Peavey's!
I usually don't pay much attention (if any) to "pop" music and artists, but Adele got my attention. She's truly atypical in just about every way and I really, really like her! "Rolling in the Deep" is a good song for sure. I haven't heard "Someone Like You" before but, heart-breaking as it is (it strikes a chord with me), Adele puts so much sincere emotion into it and I love listening to her voice. I think she is very attractive as well, even though she isn't a size 0 and doesn't wear flashy outfits (again, I relate to her).
Thanks for posting this Buckeye. I just might get her "21" CD now. Do you have her first CD called "19", I think? Pretty amazing talent in a young woman I'd say! |

That's a good link, Buckeye - thanks! I bookmarked it. I bought "21" and enjoy it very much. I'm seriously thinking about getting "19" also next time I order something from either B&N or Amazon. It was only $6.99 on one or the other. Adele is worth surely worth it! |

Stella,
I have not yet bought "19" but probably will do so. I have been playing the heck out of "21". I really like her voice. Apparently America does too, as she has been at the top of the charts for awhile now. |

Here's some current information about Adele. I really like this gal, "the anti-Lady Gaga". She sounds great, is understated yet enjoys life and looks gorgeous - check out the pictures in the article (and watch the video, too):

Adele took the first grammy tonight for best pop artist or some crap like that.
Idolwild wanted to watch the show so WTF, I'm watching the show.
Adele is going to perform tonight at some point...
I am hoping she gets the grammy for "Rolling In The Deep", she deserves it. |

Well, sleepy heads...
Adele pretty much SWEPT the grammys tonight, I lost count at six.
Best Song, Best Album, best everything.
BEST of all she performed "Rolling In The Deep" at which point I blasted my Peaveys so loud our pug took a nose dive between Idolwild's legs and she had to put a pillow over the poor dog's head to protect her from the sound level... My bad. ... well buckeye told me to.
In my defense I warned them in advance that if Adele did that tune I was gonna' crank it up to concert level so I didn't get in trouble.
I watched that show for 3 and a half hours, start to finish and I could have blogged it in real time as 98% of it was actually worth watching I must say.
The turrrbl award of the night was the exorcist act Nikki Minaj performed, ALL the other acts were quite entertaining and the best segment of the night besides Alele was a Beach Boys bit that featured Adam and Maroon 5 doing "Little Surfer"
Blake Sheldon did a tune as well in a tribute to Glen Campbell (who has Alzheimers) but was given a life achievement award and finished out the set personally. Pretty cool stuff.
Paul McCartney, Bruce Springstreen, did segments and one of my favorites the immortal Tony Bennet performed with Carrie Underwood.
They also honored Whitney Houston in several ways, the last being Jennifer Hudson singing "I Will Always Love You"... Yeah, she pulled it off.
Overall, it was real good TV for a change.
