It is no secret around here that I enjoy football as do a few of the other REAL men in this forum (which are far and few between)...
So like Aja's "Laker Fever" was to basketball this season here is the thread for the NFL, SEC, NCAA, and in the kid's case High School. 
It don't matter, Declare your favorite teams, who you hate, great games you have seen, basically all things FOOTBALL 2011-2012!
GO COWBOYS!!!
GO OSU and SOONERS!!

yes I just can't get too excited about NFL.. the season is just too long for me... once College football is over, I'm a NFL junkie...
in the SEC, this time of year is all about fall practice... who's hurt... who's looking good... how do the freshman look... who's getting arrested and will they be suspended any games LOL
seriously, in Alabama, there is at least one story about SEC football every day of the year... the talk of Texas A&M moving to the SEC and it's impact on the SEC, which affects all the other conferences, which might spell the death of the BCS, and even the death of the NCAA has the reporters working triple time... |

Well... it's Sunday and there ain't much to do online so I thought I'd ring in here and say that I'm looking forward to tonight's Cowboys VS Chargers ("practice") game on NBC at 8:00 PM.
I've been listening to a lot of Dallas Sports Radio the past 3 weeks here: http://player.cumulusstreaming.com/SLPLayer.aspx?KTCK-AM and they even did some live video streaming from Cowboy's training camp on the station home page at times.
The guy (Norm) who is on between 11 & 1 M-F my time knows his stuff and does a good show from a Dallas point of view. Gives me something to do as little is going on in the forum as of late.
Lucky for me the streaming site has a chat room and I have made a lot of new Cowboy fan friends who like my humor and tend to be more friendly than some of the folks at D.I.

Well the Cowboys had a good practice but lost the "scrimmage" last night.
I am impressed however with a few of their new players, McGee at quarterback and Tanner looks like a promising running back to join Felix Jones in the back field.
Ohio State plays Akron University ( where I went for 3 years ) to start their season first so I'll be looking forward to that next.

WOW! Detroit kicked New England's *** tonight, you gotta' like it.
Better yet the Cowboys took the Vikings out as well which improves my preseason record to 2 & 1.
I can deal with that from a "practice" standpoint.

Stafford looked awesome.. 12 of 14 and the 2 misses werent his fault... the bad thing is... its just preseason... the Pats looked really bad. the kind of bad that Belechik will hammer them with before the season begins...
I didn't see Dallas...
my football season begins in a week... my underDawgs against Boise St. then the following week against South Carolina...
I can't decide which game I'd rather win... I'd like to beat Boise just to make them STFU for the rest of the year... but here's the weird part... if Boise wins, not only will they brag about beating an SEC team, but they only play one more team in the top 50.. so they would possibly play for the Mythical National Championship...
if Boise loses.. their whole season is shot and they wont even get a sniff at the MNC ... if we lose, we can actually still play for the MNC ... but we'd have to win out... and our schedule this year is pretty favorable ...
if we just win both games, I'll be a happy camper! |

8pm saturday on ESPN
the other day, ESPN was advertising their upcoming games so first they showed a few clips of the thursday night game...
then they mentioned BSU vs UGA and showed a clip of BSU then a clip of UGA, then BSU, then UGA...
the problem is... instead of the clip being UGA it was actually footage of Georgia Tech players, our in-state rival... talk about an uproar...
I love that ESPN shows SO many games in SO many sports... but really, they're a bunch of idiots |

I hope to watch some or all of that game, thanks for the info and yeah, ESPN is a bunch of clowns.
Meanwhile on Dallas sports radio this week they are saying Texas A&M wants to join the SEC which may also be a joke... |
